KinoFlow
Our own software. KinoFlow is a personal assistant that turns your story into a storyboard, and shows you the film before you shoot it.
We built it for our own productions and are opening it to other filmmakers in a small beta. It runs on Macs with an Apple chip.

Write the script, then talk to it
A screenplay editor with scene headings, action, characters and dialogue. Select a line and ask Kino for a change: the old line is crossed out, the new one sits under it, and nothing is kept until you say so.

Every character, place and prop, read from the page
Kino reads the script and lists the cast, the locations and the props, each described from what the script says. Pictures are made only when you ask, and the cost is shown before anything is drawn.

The script, cut into shots
Each scene becomes a list of shots with a size, a length and the people and places in frame. Change the script and the storyboard follows; open any shot to draw its frame again.

The studio
Every New Dance Films project is written, directed and edited by our team. Generative tools make the images and motion inside that process, the same way a camera would.
That keeps story, performance and rhythm in human hands, and lets a small crew make work at the scale of a much larger one.
New Dance Films is operated by Newdans Film (shanghai) Co., Ltd, a film production company based in Shanghai.
How a film gets made
The same stages as any production. What changes is how fast we can move between them.
Story
Script, characters and a shot list, written before any image is made.
Look
Characters, locations and lighting are designed and locked, so every shot belongs to the same film.
Shoot
Each shot is generated against the storyboard and directed take by take until the performance is right.
Finish
Edit, sound design, music and grade, delivered in the formats you need.
